Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is it 100% Secure to purchase from your website ?

A. HomeVuProjectors.com employs various credit card fraud prevention services, provided by our online merchant processor, in order to insure purchases made from HomeVuProjectors.com are not fraudulent. When you transmit credit card information to complete a purchase or verify data, we always transmit that credit card number in an encrypted format (SSL).

2) We've seen similar products cheaper on places like Ebay. What's the difference?

A. The difference is essentially:

1) Buying from a reputable company that's been in business for 8 years, ensures that you will receive your product in proper working order, and if not will have it replaced immediately.

2) We honor our warranty. If you buy from an individual or from a company in China or Singapore online, you will have much difficulty, in the event that something goes wrong with your product. The cost of ownership will lower buying from a reputable dealer, not to mention peace of mind.

3) We offer lifetime support on all of our projectors. While you could save $20 or so buying from an individual on Ebay, I'm not sure what kind of price you can put on life time support.

4) There are a lot of knock offs out there as well, or products assuming to be what they're not, which can be hard to prove. We stand by our products, so while you may see a similar looking device, it's more than likely not our product. We stand by our products, the specifications, and performance.

3) How long will my lamp last ?

We recently discontinued our line of LCD projectors. These projectors would have a lamp life of 5,000 hours which was still more than the average LCD projector of 3,000-5,000. We only sell LED projectors now with an estimated life of 50,000 hours, which is around 20 years. Also, with LCD and DLP, after time the lamp starts to dim or go dull. This is not the case with LED technology.

4) With all the fraud on the internet, how can we be sure we are secure when ordering?

HomeVuProjectors.com employs various credit card fraud prevention services, provided by our online merchant processor, in order to insure purchases made from HomeVuProjectors.com are not fraudulent. When you transmit credit card information to complete a purchase or verify data, we always transmit that credit card number in an encrypted format (SSL)

5) How long will it take to ship from the time of order?

A. After your payment is successfully processed and approved. Your item will be shipped within 24 hours from our warehouse. Shipping takes typically 3-7 business days. It may take longer for international orders. We will provide you with a tracking number, and real time information about your order.

  • FAQ - Concerned About Fraud?

HomeVuProjectors.com has been selling electronics since 2001. As the internet has become a more popular source for online shopping, regrettably we have seen more and more instances of fraud affecting online shoppers.

A Price Too Good to be True, Usually Is.

If you've ever searched for a product on a shopping engine (such as PriceGrabber.com) you may have asked yourself, "Why are the stores I know of charging so much more than some of these other stores?"

There are many reasons why online stores may be selling the same or similar products at much lower prices.

Goods may be gray market. They may state that the product includes the manufacturer warranty, but not tell you that the warranty is not valid in your particular country. Because HomeVuProjectors.com is a worldwide retailer, our warranty is good in all countries where we sell.
  • You may be asked to buy an expensive extended warranty. In many cases if you do not purchase the warranty, your purchase will be denied. (Product is now out of stock, your card does not go through, etc. You've just wasted a few hours of your time)
  • Included parts may be sold to you separately. Some resellers will open boxes and charge extra for parts that are normally included by the manufacturer.
  • Hidden charges which don't show up until your credit card statement arrives. Unscrupulous resellers will add taxes (even when purchased out of state), insurance (at a much higher cost), and other handling charges not listed on your original invoice.
  • The individuals may be selling open box, recertified, or refuirbished good and passing them off as new.

Words of Advice

1) Use your best judgement and find out as much about the seller as possible before buying.

2) You may save some money on the actual purchase, but consider the warranty, and support. Was it worth saving $20, $40 etc? Your cost of ownership increases if the product breaks with no warranty, or if you have to pay for consulting with no support.

3) Make sure that they have an authorized payment system. Do not pay by Western Union or other bank transfer systems. These are not meant for purchasing goods.
